Successful Grant Applications for LifeScience Projects
The ZIM Programme - Central Innovation Programme for SMEs
ZIM supports the development of new technologies, products, processes and services that contribute to market growth and the competitiveness of companies. The programme is open to all topics, i.e. all ideas submitted by applicants are evaluated.
The ZIM programme is primarily aimed at German small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Individual projects can be applied for, but the ZIM programme also enables cooperation with other SMEs, research institutions and international partners. Companies from abroad may also take part in ZIM projects, provided they work together with a German partner.
The funding varies depending on the type of project and the size of the company. As a rule, funding of around €220,000 can be expected.
The ZIM programme is considered an important instrument for providing SMEs with the necessary financial support and incentives to carry out R&D projects and thus strengthen their innovative capacity in the long term.
The application process is relatively laborious, formal and very bureaucratic; a detailed project proposal is required that describes the innovation potential, technical feasibility and market relevance, as well as a detailed financial plan. Despite these hurdles, over 90% of the applications we have written for our clients have been successfully approved to date.
ZIM is suitable for supporting the development of diagnostics and devices, for example.
Applications may be filed anytime.
