HORIZON 2020 has funded projects having a financial volume of € 71 billion (71,050,292,237 €) until 31.12.2020 in total. The funding of these projects had a volume of € 58.4 billion (€ 58,370,625,613). German coordinators managed
3,354 projects with a financial volume of € 9.77 billion (€ 9,770,329,506) which were funded with € 7.89 billion (€ 7,889,113,116). Thus, projects led by German coordinators accounted for 13.75% of the total HORIZON 2020 budget. This does not correspond to Germany's share of the EU's domestic product, which was 20.9% in 2019.
646 life science projects with German coordinators were led by companies, 2,708 projects were led by German research institutions as coordinators.
Among the projects led by German coordinators, life science projects (biology, biotechnology, medicine, agro-industry, food) had a financial volume of €2.45 billion (€2,455,676,500) and they were funded with an amount of €2.1 billion (€2,097,426,143).
